My most favorite tool....IS A PEN!

This is my fave tool, aside from my honey bee scissors and some adhesive.  My white Signo pen, I would go nuts without one and use it frequently.  I have one in every tote bag, my purse and my desk drawer.
I am always amazed at how many people have never seen this pen, but once they use it, they go running to buy one.  Our local scrapbook store, Krop, Paper, Scissors is always running out!  This pen writes in true white, on light or dark paper!  It is phenomenal.

If your local store does not carry it, just google "white signo pen" and you will get a dozen places to purchase it!

Thank you to our veterans

First of all, thank you son for serving our country, I am so proud of the young man that you have become! I love you!

They Did Their Share

On Veteran’s Day we honor
Soldiers who protect our nation.
For their service as our warriors,
They deserve our admiration.

Some of them were drafted;
Some were volunteers;
For some it was just yesterday;
For some it’s been many years;

In the jungle or the desert,
On land or on the sea,
They did whatever was assigned
To produce a victory.

Some came back; some didn’t.
They defended us everywhere.
Some saw combat; some rode a desk;
All of them did their share.

No matter what the duty,
For low pay and little glory,
These soldiers gave up normal lives,
For duties mundane and gory.

Let every veteran be honored;
Don’t let politics get in the way.
Without them, freedom would have died;
What they did, we can’t repay.

We owe so much to them,
Who kept us safe from terror,
So when we see a uniform,
Let’s say "thank you" to every wearer.

Had to share this gorgeous fall picture

My daughter caught this shot hanging out with a friend, as soon as I seen it I HAD to scrap it!

Artist Trading Card

I wanted to share this ATC that I made in a recent swap at www.swap-bot.com, it was a profile swap in which we made a card that had elements of the person's profile.  My partner has a son at the Fort Lewis Army Base, she collects the letter "H", is a dog lover and loves to garden.  So added some patriotic and garden stickers along with precut dog themed cards as extras in the envelope, then this is the card I made:

I used an army themed stamp set for the camo, dog tag and army car.

The image below shows the glaze drops I did to make it look like a chain on the dog tag.

Sharing a little layout love...

Well, considering we spent time at the corn maze this year and got pictures, I figured I better get some of last years pictures done first.  So this is fall at the corn maze 2007, daddy and daughter hanging out.  I used a ton of stamps on this layout.  I love to use them as embellishments, plus the hand cut tendrils at the base of the corn on the lower left.

A close up of the tendrils:

And this one was just for fun to bring a smile to the face.

And then there is the rivalry between my employee and my youngest daughter, played out on this layout:

My Frightful Halloween Ghouls...

My two daughters, getting ready to head out and wreak havoc all over town, as a matter of fact my youngest on the right went camping in the rain after trick or treating.  Crazy girls!

I love the American Flag...

Everytime I attend an event and we sing the National Anthem, I tear up.  I just love Old Glory, the colors and what she stands for!  Our local scout crew took some time out the other night to get the flag up at our local YMCA.  I am so proud of them for taking the time to do this!

Be sure to support your local YMCA as well, they are a non profit organization that caters to our youth as well as health of all people.  As a board member, I spend a great deal of time promoting the work that they do, and would like to spread this to my site visitors.  If you have one locally take a look at what they offer.  Thank you.
